an open letter to . . .
. . . Judy Gann.

Judy, wow. I don't even know where to begin! You are
such a sweet friend—I am so grateful to know you.
When did we first meet? Was it at an OCW conference?
Or at Mount Hermon? Speaking of MH . . . I'm not sure
if I'll ever make it back there, but I know I missed out
on a really fun time not taking the train with you. Maybe
someday.  : )

You've been through so much in your life, yet your faith
in Christ and your love for Him radiates all through
you. In all you endure, He heals you by pouring His
living water through you, and you totally drench
everyone you meet! Your words on the page, your
kindness, your gentleness, your love for children, for reading, and for the Seattle Mariners . . . I
love everything about you! Thank you for being such an example, an inspiration, and source of
Jesus Christ to us all. Thank you for everything. I cherish our friendship, and want you to know
I'm here for you always.

Hey, I noticed not long ago that you joined ACFW. Hmm . . . does that mean what I think it
means?  ; )

I hope you have the most fantabulous new year ever! May His healing flood continue to pour
through you, may you find ever deeper rest and peace and comfort and joy in Him, and may the
words He gives you to share find voice for the entire world to hear. We need more of what you
have to share. Please don't ever be tempted to be silent.

Praying all His best for you, and for the soon return of spring training. Go Mariners!

I'll say it, though I know you always will: Vaya con Dios!!

with lotsa love and hugs,
donna

Donna, Donna, I had to wipe tears from my eyes before I could write a comment. Your words
touch my heart, overwhelm, and humble me. I wonder, "Who is this person she's writing about?"
:-)  Thank you for this incredible gift from your heart.

I think we first met at Mount Hermon, then again at OCW. I have such fond memories of
connecting at conferences, our joint book signing, and of course my stay at the Sandcastle Motel.
(I hope to return there in the spring.)

Re ACFW ... I joined to help me in my job selecting/recommending CBA fiction for our library
system. However, you never know—there just might be a fiction book lurking inside me. :-) (Sure
hope my beloved agent never reads your blog comments!)

Although I'll miss seeing you at OCW (I'm teaching at the Salem conference in Feb.), your blog,
and on other loops, I'm excited to see God's "next step" for you. Please keep in touch. I'll continue
to pray for you regularly.

Gratefully,
Judy

Your beloved agent ... who is also the guru of branding? Yep, she may lift an eyebrow at this
news ... though I love it! Bring on the novel. Well, after all the other books you're working on. ; )

I'll definitely keep in touch. I may still make an OCW conference or two. We'll see. Truth is, I'll
miss not seeing everyone. The classes are great, but it's seeing everyone that makes conferences
so much fun. I probably won't be able to stay away.

Hope you're feeling 100% better after everything. Getting stronger every day. Always my prayer
for you. : )
