Top Ten List
March 3rd, 2008
Since we're wrapping things up here at my wee blog, let's go out with a bang. Here, my friends,
with regards to Letterman, is my top ten list:
The top ten things I have learned from my four-year-long Adventure in Published Writing.
10. I have become fairly adept at manning a paper cutter.
9. Giving away books did not generate sales. Ahh, but it sure was fun, and I know it generated
readers.
8. The significance of the word returns.
7. The true meaning of the word bittersweet. The concept of love/hate. The underlying idea
behind It was the best of times; it was the worst of times.
6. 15% of nothing is still 15%. Pay up.
5. Before thinking you owe only x-number of buckolas for federal income taxes, don't forget to
add in the total you owe for Social Security.
4. Silence does not speak louder than words. Sometimes, though, silence does speak louder
than words.
3. That Oswald Chambers fellow was a pretty smart dude. Speaker of Truth. And Truth really
is all that matters.
2. There is a difference between a calling and a task.
1. The moment is gone, the money is gone . . . but the story remains. The story will always
remain.
